Tonle Pandaw’s Exclusive 3-Night Saigon to Phnom Penh Cruise for 2026/2027

Pandaw introduces a new chapter in Mekong River cruising in the 2026/2027 season with the launch of an exclusive 3-night Saigon to Phnom Penh itinerary aboard the RV Tonle Pandaw. Unlike other short Mekong programs that combine cruising with road journeys or overnight hotel stays, this new, compact itinerary keeps guests onboard for all three nights, creating a smooth, uninterrupted river experience from start to finish between Vietnam and Cambodia.

Why Choose Tonle Pandaw Over Other Short Mekong Cruises?

Many travelers comparing short Saigon-Phnom Penh routes may be familiar with the 4-day Mekong Eyes or Dragon Eyes Cruise, which typically includes:

  • A night in a riverside hotel
  • Speedboat transfers between sections

Tonle Pandaw offers a clear upgrade for guests who want:

  • Three consecutive nights onboard one elegant river ship
  • No packing, unpacking, or changing transport
  • A slower, more immersive Mekong experience
  • A true cruise, not a cruise-and-transfer hybrid

Operating twice weekly, this new sailing connects central Saigon directly with Phnom Penh, replacing long overland drives with a scenic passage through mangroves, canals, orchards, and floating villages. Ideal for first-time river cruisers or travelers with limited time, it also fits effortlessly into wider Vietnam and Cambodia itineraries or even multi-country Southeast Asia travel programs.

Day-by-Day Itinerary Overview

Day 1: From Saigon to the Mekong Delta

Start right in central Saigon, where you embark the RV Tonle Pandaw. Unwind on the spacious sundeck and watch the city slowly give way to quieter waterways. After lunch onboard, meet the crew and enjoy local entertainment as the ship sails toward the Mekong Delta. The vessel moors overnight on the Vam Co River.

Day 2: Ben Tre and Fertile Waterways

An early start takes you through the historic Cho Gao Canal to Ben Tre. Here, explore narrow waterways by sampan, drifting through mangroves and bamboo forests to lush fruit orchards. Visits to a local handicraft village highlight the Delta’s rich artisanal traditions. Back onboard, the ship continues deeper into the Delta toward Chau Doc.

Day 3: Chau Doc and Crossing into Cambodia

The morning excursion takes you by minivan to Sam Mountain, home to the atmospheric Hang Pagoda (Phuoc Dien Tu). Those who climb the steps are rewarded with sweeping views across the Mekong plains, while others may choose to explore the lively local market below.

Later, return to the water to visit floating fish farms by sampan, followed by a private lion Dance performance at a nearby village. The ship anchors at the Vietnam-Cambodia border for immigration formalities.

Note: During high water periods (October-November), excursions in Chau Doc may be replaced with a visit to Long Thuan village due to low bridges.

Day 4: Phnom Penh Disembarkation

After breakfast, disembark your Pandaw in Cambodia’s capital, Phnom Penh.
